The primary goal of the Guthrie County Treasurer's office is to provide courteous and efficient public service. By the power invested in the Treasurer as the overseer of the revenues generated in Guthrie County, we strive to respect the people of Guthrie County. The Guthrie County Treasurer's capacity is that of a public administrator whose authority is established by state government for the purpose of policing county funds and maintaining complex financial records and accounts. The Treasurer is an elected official with a four-year term.

The Treasurer, being a curator for Guthrie County, is responsible for the receipt, management, disbursement, financial reporting, bonds and investment of all monies paid to the County and also serves as an agent for the State of Iowa Department of Transportation and Iowa Department of Revenue and Finance. All money is prudently invested and totally insured and protected as required by the Code of Iowa. The guidelines used are safety, liquidity, and maximum-return for the public investment.

NOTE: All transactions involving the Treasurer's Office must be started by 4:00 pm or they will have to be completed the next working day.
